Use our screened bottom board and sticky board together to help control mite infestation without resorting to chemical methods. Varroa mites commonly fall off their adult hosts or are removed by the bees during grooming. In a standard hive, the mites climb back up only to continue breeding and parasitizing the bees.
Using our screened bottom board and sticky board, mites that fall or are knocked off the bees will fall through the screen and onto the board, where they are trapped and subsequently die. The sticky board will also give a good indication of how large a mite problem exists in the hive.
